My fascination with financial markets began in 1983. Their extraordinary complexity led me to study finance and develop a lasting interest in how markets, mathematics, probability and human behaviour interact.
My love of mathematics began much earlier. A life-threatening illness during childhood left me confined indoors for extended periods, and mathematics became a source of curiosity, creativity and discovery.
Coming from a family of inventors, I began developing original mathematical and conceptual ideas from the age of 11. This included work involving the reconceptualisation of set theory, which contributed to my receiving an actuarial scholarship.
Sixteen years ago, I wrote a book exploring advances in technical and fundamental analysis, published through a leading American academic publisher. I have also written several other books across my areas of professional and intellectual interest.
My passion for mathematics and sharing knowledge led me into education. I became a lecturer and examiner in first- and second-year Statistics.
My teaching philosophy was simple: mathematics should be understandable, practical and engaging. I used relatable examples and stories to help students move beyond fear and develop confidence in working with statistics, probability and complex ideas.
That same philosophy underpins the CTKS Master Class. Complex concepts are broken down into clear foundations so participants can progressively build their own understanding.
Most of my professional career was spent working as a Senior Management Consultant and trusted adviser to large multinational organisations.
My work involved assisting senior leaders with the implementation of emerging technologies, improved business processes, knowledge-management systems and organisational strategies designed to support productivity and long-term performance.
I have held senior leadership and international board positions, including serving as National President of the Knowledge Management Consortium and Chairman of the International Intangible Management Standards Institute.
These roles gave me the opportunity to travel widely, speak at hundreds of conferences and work closely with executives responsible for complex commercial and organisational decisions.
Throughout my career, I have studied finance, psychology, mindfulness, technology, productivity, leadership, invention and innovation. This multidisciplinary background influences the way I examine markets, decision-making, risk and human behaviour.
I have been fascinated by computers since I was young and have developed a strong background in information technology.
In 1993, I owned an internet service provider and experienced the early development of the commercial internet firsthand. This provided valuable insight into the way disruptive technologies emerge, attract speculation, challenge established systems and develop through periods of rapid innovation and uncertainty.
There are important conceptual similarities between the early internet and the continuing development of digital assets. My experience across technology, finance, organisational change and psychology helps me examine crypto markets from several perspectives rather than through technical analysis alone.
This perspective is presented for educational purposes. It is not a claim that historical technology cycles will repeat or that particular crypto assets will succeed.
Four important influences helped shape my outlook on life.
My mother was an accountant and taught me about money and responsibility. My father was a senior government executive and gave me an understanding of leadership and power. My sister worked in medicine and represented caring and service. My grandmother was deeply religious and demonstrated the importance of integrity, kindness and meaning.
These influences are reflected throughout the Master Class. Market education is not only about charts and numbers. It also involves discipline, emotional awareness, decision-making, personal responsibility and an understanding of risk.
In 2016, three months after my beloved sister died from cancer, I was diagnosed with brain cancer. I was told that my prognosis was extremely serious. Following three operations, I survived, but the experience profoundly changed how I viewed life, knowledge and purpose.
In 2020, I was again hospitalised in a high-care unit. During that time, I reflected on the knowledge I had accumulated over decades of study, professional work and personal experience.
I began asking myself what would happen if that knowledge remained unshared.
I wanted to create something that could help people develop stronger educational foundations, manage uncertainty more thoughtfully and better understand the relationship between money, stress, family, purpose and personal responsibility.
That reflection led to the creation of the CryptoTradingKS YouTube channel.
Its purpose was not to tell people what to buy or sell. It was to share educational frameworks, analytical processes and different ways of thinking about crypto markets.
The CTKS community repeatedly asked for a deeper and more systematic explanation of the concepts introduced through the YouTube channel.
Many viewers wanted more detailed education covering market structure, technical analysis, probability, psychology, risk awareness and the original conceptual models I had developed over more than 30 years.
The Master Class was created in response to those requests.
My experience teaching Statistics showed me that people often struggle when they attempt advanced work without first developing strong foundations. When the foundations are clear, structured and properly understood, people are better equipped to analyse information and form their own conclusions.
For that reason, the CTKS Master Class provides a systematic learning framework. It brings together educational concepts, analytical tools, original models, worked examples and practical chart demonstrations.
The objective is to help participants:
strengthen their understanding of crypto technical analysis;
examine market information more critically;
understand probability, volatility and risk;
recognise emotional and psychological influences;
develop independent analytical processes; and
make their own informed decisions.
The CTKS Master Class and CryptoTradingKS content are provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
They do not constitute financial product advice, personal financial advice, investment advice, a recommendation, a trading signal or an invitation to buy, sell or hold any crypto asset or financial product.
The content does not consider any participant’s personal objectives, financial situation or needs. Charts, indicators, models and market examples are used to demonstrate educational concepts and analytical methods. They should not be interpreted as predictions, guarantees or recommendations.
Crypto assets are volatile and involve significant risk. Participants remain responsible for conducting their own research and making their own decisions. Where appropriate, they should consider obtaining advice from a suitably qualified and licensed professional.
